Lilien visit Fanclubs

On Wednesday evening (November 26th), the SV 98 professional squad set out to visit numerous fan clubs in Darmstadt and the surrounding area. Whether in casual conversation, bowling together, or lively discussions – everywhere it was clear what an important part such an evening is for "We Lilies".

Divided into eight groups, the Darmstadt players visited various fan clubs in Darmstadt and the surrounding region on Wednesday evening. Many were invited for food and informal conversation. For example, the „Blau-Weiß“ fan club, along with Isac Lidberg and Jean-Paul Boetius, formed a long table at the Lilienschänke (a local pub). A similarly relaxed atmosphere prevailed in Bickenbach (LF GG Bickenbach) during a meeting with Matthias Bader and Paul Will. The evenings at the „Häzemer Lilien“ (Vukotic and Maglica), the „RheinHeiner Lilien“ (Güler, Lakenmacher, and Arnold), the „Oldmen Darmstadt,“ and the „L.F.C.D & Blue Madness“ (Brunst and Hornby) were similarly enjoyable.

„This kind of exchange is important; it’s great to get to know the fans better,“ explained Benedikt Börner, who visited the „Oldmen“ along with Kai Klefisch and Hiroki Akiyama.

A special evening took place in the main stand of the Merck Stadium at Böllenfalltor, where Marcel Schuhen and Fabian Holland met with around 100 Darmstadt fans from the south stand to discuss various topics and engage in lively debate.

Marcel Schuhen said, „I find this kind of exchange incredibly valuable because it gives us players insight into many aspects of fan culture, and conversely, it helps the fan scene better understand the issues that concern us.“

The evening took a more sporting turn with the fan club „Gegengerade 98“: Together with Marco Richter, Patric Pfeiffer, and Max Pfister, they headed to the bowling alley. This evening activity was a big hit, especially with Richter: „It was a welcome change of pace and a lot of fun. I’ve felt the close connection to the fans at this club from the very beginning, so an evening like this is definitely confirmation of that.“
