SV 98 parts ways with Daniel Petrowsky

SV Darmstadt 98 has relieved its U21 head coach, Daniel Petrowsky, of his duties with immediate effect. The 49-year-old was informed of this decision in a personal meeting on Thursday (February 5th). Sebastian Schmitt, assistant coach of the U21 team since July 2024, will take over the responsibility until the end of the season.

Björn Kopper, Head of Youth Performance Center: “We have used the past few weeks to thoroughly examine the current status and development of our U21 team over the past few months. The current sporting situation in the Hessenliga was only one aspect of this; our primary focus was on differing opinions regarding the overall direction of the U21 program. We have therefore decided to relieve Daniel of his duties with immediate effect. This decision does not diminish our appreciation and gratitude for the work Daniel has done in our youth development program over the past three and a half years. We wish him all the best for the future.”

Petrowsky had joined the Lilies‘ youth performance center as head coach of the U19 team in July 2022 and had taken over the coaching position for the newly founded U21 team in the Hessenliga for the 2024/25 season.
