Transfer News: Lilies Sign Weißhaupt
SV 98 has secured an offensive boost. Noah Weißhaupt will wear the Lilies' jersey in the future. The 24-year-old is transferring from SC Freiburg to Darmstadt.
Paul Fernie: “With Noah, we’re getting a dynamic player who can be deployed flexibly, especially on the wings. He received excellent tactical and technical training in Freiburg and possesses great pace and game intelligence. We’re very happy to have signed a player of this quality and are convinced that Noah will bring us a lot of joy.”
Noah Weißhaupt: “I immediately had a good feeling during my discussions with the club officials and I’m sure I’m a great fit for Darmstadt’s style of play. I followed Darmstadt closely, especially last season, and I’m happy to now be part of this club. It was also important to me that I could start preseason training with the team right away, and I’m already looking forward to the start at the end of June.”
The Rostock native was developed in the youth academy of SC Freiburg, for whom Weißhaupt made his Bundesliga debut at the age of 18. The right-footed player has made a total of 74 appearances in Germany’s top flight (55 for SC Freiburg).
During the second half of the 2024/25 season, Weißhaupt was on loan to FC St. Pauli, making 19 appearances for the club. In the first half of last season, the winger played for Legia Warsaw in the Polish Ekstraklasa, and in the second half, he wore the Hannover 96 jersey.
Weißhaupt is a former German youth international. He earned a total of eleven caps for the DFB’s U18, U20, and U21 teams.
At Darmstadt, Weißhaupt will wear the number 7 jersey.
