„We’re not making enough of our numerical advantage.“

A draw in Münster. SV Darmstadt 98 and SC Preußen Münster played to a 1-1 draw in their final away match of the season. While Darmstadt remain in fifth place with 52 points, the draw confirms Preußen Münster's relegation to the 3. Liga. We've gathered all the post-match reactions for you.

Florian Kohfeldt:

„With an event like today’s, where a club like Preußen Münster is relegated, I don’t want to say much about the game itself. It’s certainly safe to say it was a wild match. That’s all I’ll say about the analysis today. I wish Preußen Münster, the club, and everyone here all the best.“

Alois Schwartz:

„Thanks, Florian! Preußen Münster is a fantastic club. You could see that again today, how we stuck together. Nevertheless, today is a very sad day. In the last three games, we took control of the game each time, only to give it away again and again with our own mistakes. We make too many simple and naive errors that invite the opponent in. Overall, though, the team showed a good side. They battled for almost an hour with ten men against an extremely strong attack. That showed that the team had the will to win the game at home.“

Matej Maglica:

„It wasn’t a pretty game for the spectators. The final score was 1-1 – and that didn’t help anyone. We had a lot of possession after the red card, but we didn’t make enough of our numerical advantage. On top of that, we’ve been plagued by injuries in recent weeks – including Paddy’s injury in the first half today. We’ll give it our all in our last home game for the club and our fans. Our fans have been with us all season long – whether at home or away.“

Kai Klefisch:

„I’m unhappy and angry because this isn’t how we envisioned things going today. Münster gave us a few ‚gifts‘ that we couldn’t capitalise on. We wanted to put them under pressure early and force them into mistakes. We succeeded in that, but then we couldn’t deliver the decisive blows. Besides that, we have to be honest and admit that we were playing with some injured players. What’s going on with us at the end of the season is unbelievable. It’s incredibly bitter that we didn’t win this game and haven’t been able to win away from home for so many matches. Nevertheless, we’ll try to give the fans a victory in our last game of the season; they certainly deserve it. We need this one win to go into the new season with a positive feeling. We’ll do everything we can to make that happen.“
