Transfer News: Stark Strengthens U21’s
The U21 team of SV Darmstadt 98 can welcome a familiar face to their ranks for the upcoming season: Yannick Stark will play for the Lilies in the Hessenliga in the future.
The U21 of SV Darmstadt 98 is going into the winter break in sixth place in the Lotto Hessenliga with 35 points. At the end of the year, the Lilies drew 1-1 away to Hünfelder SV in a duel between the strongest teams in the competition. The Junglilien have been unbeaten in four games and have only lost one of the last ten games.
It became clear right from the start that the two teams are currently the strongest teams in the Hessenliga. The game was balanced and extremely exciting – with a slight increase in chances on the Lilies‘ side. But it wasn’t until the end of the first half that Mateo Zelic in the 39th minute managed to get the ball into the opponent’s box and send SV 98 into the break with a 1-0 lead.
For a long time it looked as if the Hünfelders would have to accept another defeat after six successful games in a row. But the hosts hit back in the final phase. In the 85th minute, referee Steffen Rabe pointed to the spot after an alleged foul. It was Kevin Krieger who converted from eleven meters for Hünfelder SV. As in the first leg, the game ended 1-1.
Both teams went into the winter break with one point each. The next league game for the SV Darmstadt 98 U21s is on Friday, February 16th. Then the Junglilien meet VfB Marburg. Before that, the Darmstadt team will play a few test matches in front of their home crowd from January 18th. You will receive more information about this here.
