Tim Arnold will play in the Regionalliga West next season. SV 98 is loaning the 19-year-old to Sportfreunde Siegen. The fourth-division club also has an option to sign him permanently.

1st round: Lilies face VfB Lübeck in the DFB Cup
The first round of the DFB Cup has been drawn: SV Darmstadt 98 will face VfB Lübeck from the Regionalliga Nord away in the opening match of the new 2025/26 cup season. This was revealed by the draw at the German Football Museum with draw fairy Owen Ansah and DFB Vice President Peter Frymuth live on ZDF on Sunday (June 15th).
Paul Fernie: „We’re looking forward to the trip to Lübeck; the first round of the DFB Cup is always an exciting affair. With VfB Lübeck, we face an interesting challenge against a long-established club. But one thing is also clear: our goal is to advance to the next round of the cup, and we absolutely want to achieve this goal in Lübeck.“
The first round of the DFB Cup, and thus SV Darmstadt 98’s first cup campaign against the regional league team from Schleswig-Holstein, will take place between August 15th and 18th and August 26th and 27th. The exact match dates will be announced by the DFB.
Heinerfest game show: SV 98 is looking for four teams
Want to take your team to the Heinerfest stage? Then apply now! SV Darmstadt 98 is looking for four teams to be part of the Lilies' Heinerfest game show and compete against former Lilie player Michael Stegmayer. The show takes place on Saturday, July 4th, from 4pm to 6pm. Amateur teams, groups of friends, families, fan clubs, and club groups are all welcome to participate.

Young Lilies: Coach swap between U21 and U19
SV 98 is making changes to the head coaching positions for its U21 and U19 teams for the upcoming season. Sebastian Schmitt, who has been in charge of the U21s since February, will now coach the U19s. Conversely, the current U19 coach, Patrick Kurt, will take over the position with the U21s.
The fan shop at Bölle will remain closed on Monday.
The SV Darmstadt 98 fan shop at the Merck Stadium at Böllenfalltor will be closed next Monday (June 22nd). It will reopen on Tuesday (June 23rd) with its regular opening hours.

Children’s play day at Bölle: Ticket sales for the Homburg test match start on June 18th.
At the Merck Stadium at Böllenfalltor against FC Homburg: Ticket sales for the friendly match on July 14, 2026, at 6pm against the regional league team begin on June 18 at noon. Tickets are available as usual at the ticket office at the stadium and in our online ticket shop. We would also like to draw your attention to this very special match day: The friendly against FC Homburg will put our youngest fans in the spotlight, giving them their first ever children's match day at the stadium, an event never before seen at the Merck Stadium.
Transfer News: Torsiello stays in Aachen
Fabio Torsiello will also play for Alemannia Aachen next season. SV 98 is loaning the 21-year-old attacking player to the third-division club for another season. Aachen also has an option to sign him permanently.
Transfer News: Lilies Sign Weißhaupt
SV 98 has secured an offensive boost. Noah Weißhaupt will wear the Lilies' jersey in the future. The 24-year-old is transferring from SC Freiburg to Darmstadt.
Training start postponed to June 28th.
For organisational reasons, SV 98 is postponing the first team training session of its summer preparation to June 28th. The session was originally scheduled for June 27th at the SV Winterkasten grounds in the Odenwald region.
Final rehearsal against Portsmouth FC
Darmstadt 98 will play their final pre-season friendly against English Championship side Portsmouth FC. The match will take place on August 1st at 2pm at the Merck Stadium at Böllenfalltor.
For members: Season ticket sales start Friday
The season is currently suspended, and the start of the new second division season is still some time away. Nevertheless, attention is already turning to the upcoming season: Starting Friday (June 12th) at 12 noon, club members without a current season ticket can purchase their season ticket for the 2026/27 season. Tickets will be available both online and at the ticket office at the stadium.
