Annual Department Meeting of the Fan and Support Department
The annual department meeting of the SV Darmstadt 98 fan and supporter department took place on Monday evening (October 5th). In addition to providing an overview of the department's activities, the event aimed to offer an opportunity for exchange and active participation.
Focus on cohesion
The focus was on what the FuFa stands for: creating a community in which people are happy to get involved. Even before the official agenda began, the tribute to deceased members made it clear that the meeting was not merely about the organisation of the Fan and Support Department, but also about member solidarity. Board member Roy Reinelt-Peter also shared some heartfelt words regarding the Fan and Support Department; he views the FuFa as a „passion project“ and a fundamental element in keeping the club united. Prior to joining the board, he was a member of the Fan and Support Department himself and worked to advance the department further.
It’s about the big picture.
This year, the fan and support department reached a total membership of 16,344. Members regularly dedicate themselves to supporting the club through a wide variety of projects. Among other initiatives, first-aid courses were offered, followed by a special event day at the stadium. As a result of this campaign, more AED units have now been installed both inside and around the stadium. By establishing a new volunteer team and organising a fundraiser for the „KälteEngel“ (Cold Angels) in Bochum, the fan and support department further demonstrated its commitment to social engagement and community solidarity. Equally important is the issue highlighted by the „Lily Group,“ which actively advocates for women’s safety at the stadium. In December, group members attended a workshop to further their knowledge. Additionally, posters were put up in the stadium to provide an easy way to report misconduct.
Developments in and for the future
The FuFa also unveiled its new website, aiming to present a fresh, modern, and more user-friendly image. Additionally, in collaboration with the City of Darmstadt, approximately 180 new bicycle parking spaces are set to be built at and around the stadium by the end of the year.
