+++ Fan team competes in the Bürgerpark +++

Attention Lilien fans and groundhoppers: As preparations for the 2025/26 season begin, a special match is coming up in a traditional setting. After the fan team played a match at the university stadium last year, a match will now be played at the stadium in Bürgerpark Nord. On Saturday (July 12th, 6pm), the championship team of the „Zweten Zwoten“ (second team) will face the second team of VfL 1911 Michelstadt. A varied supporting program and a diverse crowd from all over Germany should ensure an atmospheric evening of football.

Tickets are now available online. Pickup is possible the week of the match in the fan shop or at the box office. Tickets will not be shipped.

Further information about the venue and organisation will be announced shortly.

+++ Blind football at the highest level +++

On June 27 and 28, 2025, two international blind football matches between Germany and Turkey will take place in Ober-Ramstadt. The event is being hosted by FC Ober-Ramstadt in cooperation with the German Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired (DBSV).

This is the most important information

  • Where? Artificial turf pitch at the GCLS School, An der Sporthalle, 64372 Ober-Ramstadt
  • When? Friday, June 27 – Kick-off: 7pm & Saturday, June 28 – Kick-off: 5pm
  • Free admission

The two events offer top-class international sport in an inclusive, open atmosphere. The goal is to make blind football accessible to a broader public and simultaneously send a strong signal for participation and diversity in sport.

+++ Successful debut season for U21 +++

SV Darmstadt 98’s U21 team has mastered its first season in the Hessenliga with flying colours. Even though they lost their last match against Türk Gücü Friedberg 2-3, thus missing a slim chance of a Regionalliga relegation, pride prevails. Henry Held gave the Junglilien an early lead, but after a thrilling game, a late goal from the visitors decided the match.

Head coach Daniel Petrowsky draws an overall positive assessment of the 2024/25 season: „A year ago, a team was built from scratch that now impresses with a strong sixth-place finish and the second-best defence in the league. The U21 team has not only established itself in terms of its sporting credentials, but has also received league-wide recognition for its courageous, committed style of play.“ Petrowsky is optimistic about the future: „The way we played football makes us want more.“

+++ Two Lilien professionals still in action +++

While most of SV Darmstadt 98’s players are currently on vacation, two players have a busy schedule: Fabian Nürnberger and the Bulgarian national team will face Cyprus in a friendly on Friday (June 6th, 6pm), before traveling to Greece for a test match on Tuesday (June 10th, 8:45pm). Jean-Paul Boëtius, nominated for the first time for Suriname, will play in the CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers, first on Saturday (June 7th, 12am CEST) and then on Wednesday (June 11th, 3am CEST) against El Salvador. SVD wishes them both much success with their national teams!

+++ Happy birthday! +++

Dr. Alexander Lesch, who has been the team’s internal medicine physician for years, celebrates his 51st birthday on Sunday (June 8th). Lesch has had close ties to the club since childhood and is now entering his tenth season with the Lilies. After completing his medical studies, he initially worked as an emergency doctor – including at SVD games. Since October 2016, he has been supporting the team in an official capacity. SV Darmstadt 98 wishes you a happy birthday and wishes you continued medical attention with as few medical interventions as possible!

Disappointment & pride

Darmstadt's 2-1 defeat at Karlsruher SC also ended any remaining theoretical hopes the South Hessian club had of finishing the season in the top three. The loss at the Wildpark stadium served somewhat as a symbol for the past few weeks, during which SV 98 had only managed one point from five matches since the international break in March. Following the game on Sunday afternoon, the Darmstadt players addressed the assembled media representatives with mixed feelings.

Left hook, 'One hundred and eightyyyyyyy', and hand over the baton. Doesn't sound like football – and that's true. KSC is often associated with professional football, but with the sheer number of titles the club has won, it's worth looking beyond the pitch. Titles from Baden-Württemberg to Rome.
