Sports director Paul Fernie: „Dimo Wache told me about Alex’s goalkeeping qualities and also reported what a meticulous and hard-working professional he is. I completely trust Dimo’s judgment when it comes to goalkeepers, which is why the new contract for Alex is also a ‚ No-Brainer‘. We are all happy that Alex is so committed to the club and sees his future with the Lilies.“

Goalkeeping coach Dimo Wache: „Alex is a very important part of our goalkeeping group, who pushes himself and the other keepers every week. He has also proven that he can always be relied on in the games. I’m looking forward to continuing to be able to work with him.“

Alexander Brunst: “Since day one, my family and I have felt very comfortable in the city and at the club. I also feel great appreciation from the club and the fans and I completely identify with the lilies and their path. That’s why the decision to extend it wasn’t very difficult for me. I’m really excited about the next three years in Darmstadt.”

Brunst joined SV 98 from Danish club Vejle BK in the summer of 2022 after a stint abroad. The tall backup goalkeeper has played four competitive games in Darmstadt to date. In the current season, Brunst was used in the Bundesliga away game against SC Freiburg.
