Darmstadt with a positive record

There have been 23 competitive matches between Darmstadt and St. Pauli to date. In ten of the 15 encounters since the turn of the millennium, the Lilies emerged victorious. However, during their most recent visit to the Böllenfalltor stadium in 2023, the Hamburg side secured a 3–0 win—their first away victory against Darmstadt in twelve attempts. At the end of that season, Darmstadt earned promotion, with St. Pauli following suit a year later.

Old Acquaintances

Noah Weißhaupt is familiar with both clubs: during the 2024/25 season, the attacking player spent time on loan at FC St. Pauli, scoring one goal in 19 Bundesliga appearances. He subsequently moved to the Lilies, where the 25-year-old has since become one of the team’s most prolific goalscorers.

Heading accuracy

Heading the ball seems to be a strength for the Kiezkicker: only two teams have scored more headed goals so far than FC St. Pauli. At the same time, the Hamburg side defends effectively against opponents‘ headers, having conceded only one goal in this manner.

Most recently delivered at the Bölle

Things are going well for the Lilien at the Böllenfalltor stadium: SV 98 has recently come out on top in their last two home matches, against both Bielefeld (2–1) and Cottbus (3–1). Their upcoming opponent, FC St. Pauli, is still searching for their first away win of the season. It’s a promising situation for the Lilien, who are looking to extend their winning streak on home turf.

No goal following a counterattack

When the game shifts quickly into attack, the Kiezkicker have managed to maintain control so far: FC St. Pauli have yet to concede a goal following an opponent’s counterattack, and have allowed only one after losing possession during open play. However, the Lilien also know how to defend in such transition situations; they have conceded only six shots on goal following counterattacks by their opponents.

Kohfeldt’s debut, Rapp’s score to settle

While Florian Kohfeldt faces FC St. Pauli as a coach for the first time, his counterpart Marcel Rapp is still waiting for his first victory against Darmstadt. In five second-division encounters with the Lilies, he has managed three draws and suffered two defeats while in charge of Holstein Kiel.

Youth Academy Training: When training should be more than just strenuous

Plenty of movement, a high tempo, and as few interruptions as possible—but does a strenuous training session automatically equate to an effective one? Nearly 90 coaches explored these questions during the fifth professional development seminar hosted by the youth academy of the Lilien (SV Darmstadt 98). Under the theme "Effective Training – Optimizing Intensity," the club’s youth academy invited coaches from the surrounding area to attend the session—free of charge—at the Merck-Stadion am Böllenfalltor. Participants gained practical insights into the targeted management of training loads and had the opportunity to exchange ideas with coaches from other clubs.
