He knows how it works!

Florian Kohfeldt. With him we start our top facts about the Schalke game. Why? The Lilies‘ new head coach always won at Schalke. If that’s not a good omen… Kohfeldt has already been a guest at FC Schalke 04 five times as coach of Werder Bremen, and he was able to leave the Veltins Arena with a victorious smile five times – four times in the Bundesliga, once in the DFB Cup.

Pacemaker

The Schalke team really put the pedal to the metal. The average top speed of all Royal Blue professionals of 30.6 km/h is the best in the 2nd Bundesliga. With a measured top speed of 35.01 km/h, Taylan Bulut is the fastest Schalke player so far this season. But one person is against it: Luca Marseiler has already been clocked at 35.07 km/h.

Good memories...

… of a spectacle in the Veltins Arena. We look back at the 2021/22 second division season, when the Lilies were guests in Gelsenkirchen for the last time. On November 7th, 2021, SV Darmstadt 98 won 4-2 after being 1-0 down. An own goal from Luca Pfeiffer gave Schalke the lead. But Phillip Tietz and Mathias Honsak turned the game around before the break. Tietz again and a goal from Benjamin Goller made the away win in the Ruhrpott perfect in the second half. Beautiful memories. But on Friday evening it’s time to create new ones!

Junglilien past

A South Hesse player in the service of FC Schalke 04. Janik Bachmann was born in Groß-Umstadt in 1996 and also has a past with SV Darmstadt 98. The central midfielder once played for the Junglilien from 2010 to 2015.
