Lilies win in Walldorf
SV Darmstadt 98 won their fourth pre-season friendly. The Lilies defeated regional league side FC-Astoria Walldorf 4-1 (0-0) after 120 minutes.
SV Darmstadt 98 is part of the finissage of the exhibition “Jewish athletes and clubs in Darmstadt”. Dr. Marc Balbaschweski from the SV 98 history department will take part in a panel discussion at this festive conclusion to the exhibition on Thursday (February 27th). The finissage, including the panel discussion, will take place from 6 to 7.30pm in the Catholic parish of St. Elisabeth at Schlossgartenplatz 1 in Darmstadt.
Balbaschweski, who has been dealing with the history of Lilies and especially the chapter during National Socialism for years, is just one of several interesting speakers. Hanno Benz (Mayor of Darmstadt) and Alon Meyer (President of Makkabi Germany) as well as Alexander Stoler (cultural officer of the Jewish Community of Darmstadt) will also take part in this panel discussion on the topic of “Sport. A place for respect, solidarity and cohesion. Against every form of anti-Semitism.” participate.
The conversation will be moderated by Bernd Lülsdorf, the Catholic chairman of the Society for Christian-Jewish Cooperation in Darmstadt.
