In a media session on Wednesday (Oct. 7th), Dutchman Milan Smit spoke about, among other things, his first few months at the club. „It is a very welcoming club. I enjoy every moment of playing here in the stadium,“ said the forward, who is particularly impressed by the stadium atmosphere. Even before signing his contract with the Lilien, he was clear about his choice of clubs: „Darmstadt was my number one from the very beginning.“ The reason, he explained, is that German football—and the style of play—suits him well. The Dutchman has also settled in well with the squad. He described himself as a sociable person who can talk to anyone. Nevertheless, having teammates who speak his native language was an advantage: „Of course, it’s good when you arrive somewhere new and there are already a few Dutch players there. It makes it easier to integrate into the group.“
