Florian Kohfeldt:

„Over the 90 minutes, it was an absolutely deserved home win. The first 30 minutes were evenly matched. Aside from Fraser Hornby’s chance, I didn’t see any scoring opportunities on either side. We then gained more and more possession, and our front four pressed incredibly well today. Marco Richter also won the ball in front of goal and then played a pass to Isac Lidberg. The timing of the 2-0 shortly after the break was good for us. Up until the 83rd minute, we had opportunities to win the game more clearly and earlier. We lost a bit of our determination there. Overall, we brought the foundation of our game onto the pitch today. We put in a solid performance in the best sense of the word against a brave and unpleasant opponent and secured a well-deserved home win.“

Thomas Stamm:

„Congratulations to Florian and Darmstadt on the win. Darmstadt was very efficient in the first half. I would have hoped for the same from my team. We played very well until the goal we conceded. However, we defended very sloppily and lacked the determination and patience needed in the final third to create clear chances. We didn’t really concede much before the break, but we still went into the break trailing. We didn’t defend well on the second goal either. The timing immediately after the break was also very unfortunate. After that, there was a period in which we could have conceded a third or fourth goal.“

Marco Richter:

„I never had the feeling we might fall behind. But we knew what to expect. Dynamo doesn’t belong down there in my opinion; they play top-class football with a lot of courage from the back. But we’re in really good form, and we’re having fun right now. I have a lot of confidence in our defence, and our offence is also coming back. It’s a lot of fun right now! We’re in good form, and we want to continue like this. Even if not every pass worked out in the end, that’s how you have to play at home. You have to win games, even if there are difficult phases in the game. We did that today, so we’re overjoyed.“

Fraser Hornby:

„I’m really happy. I felt the team had started the season well, and I was hoping to score a goal sooner to help the team. I knew that if I got the chance, I would take it.“

Darmstadt's 2-1 defeat at Karlsruher SC also ended any remaining theoretical hopes the South Hessian club had of finishing the season in the top three. The loss at the Wildpark stadium served somewhat as a symbol for the past few weeks, during which SV 98 had only managed one point from five matches since the international break in March. Following the game on Sunday afternoon, the Darmstadt players addressed the assembled media representatives with mixed feelings.
