+++ Cup collection campaign a complete success +++

You are incredible! At SV 98’s last home game against SC Preußen Münster (November 30th), the sports club organised a cup collection campaign where Lilien fans were able to donate their cup deposits to a good cause. A total of 4,809.31 euros were collected. All proceeds will go to the „Castellar Oliveral C.F. Pobles del Sud“ sports club near Valencia for the restoration of its sports grounds after the flood disaster. At the same time, the association collects money for the local community and is currently distributing bicycles to residents who lost their cars due to the flood.

+++ All the best, honorary captain! +++

The honorary captain of SV Darmstadt 98 celebrates his 39th birthday on Wednesday (December 11th), Aytac Sulu. The former captain of the Lilies played an impressive number of 210 competitive games at SVD in his six years at the Bölle. With his move in 2012 from SCR Altach from the Austrian 1st league to the German 3rd league, success gradually came to SV 98. After a difficult first year including relegation, Sulu then led the team to two promotions in a row – first in the 2nd league and immediately afterwards in the Bundesliga, where they also celebrated staying in the league together. “He was one of the defining faces of our successful recent past and, with his achievements and leadership qualities, played a significant role in ensuring that we were and are allowed to play in the top two leagues in recent years,” said Lilien President Rüdiger Fritsch, paying tribute to the honorary captain of SV 98 at the general meeting in October 2019. Enjoy your birthday with your loved ones and celebrate a wonderful 39th anniversary, Aytac!

+++ Promotion hero celebrates his birthday +++

It is May 19th, 2014. The relegation second leg for promotion to the second division between SV Darmstadt 98 and Arminia Bielefeld is currently taking place at the Bielefelder Alm. It was already the second minute of added time in extra time when Elton Da Costa unleashed a volley with his left foot just before the penalty area line, which hit the Bielefeld goal unstoppably. The miracle of Bielefeld. After a 3-1 defeat in the first leg, SV 98 won 4-2 thanks to Elton Da Costa’s goal and was spectacularly promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga. A day that the Darmstadt fans will never forget. And the very man who gave the club these special memories with his goal will be 45 years old next Sunday (December 15th). We wish Elton Da Costa a happy birthday from the bottom of our hearts!

+++ Happy Birthday, Klaus! +++

Klaus Gjasula is also celebrating his birthday this week. On Saturday (December 14th), the day of the match against 1. FC Kaiserslautern, he can look forward to his 35th birthday. He has been part of the Lilies since 2021 and has appeared in 67 competitive games so far. We wish you a happy birthday and a nice evening at Bölle with hopefully three points!

+++ SilverLilien hat campaign+++

Life on the streets is particularly hard, especially in the cold season. In order to give the homeless on the streets of Darmstadt a little warmth, the members of the SilberLilien creative meeting, together with other volunteers, crocheted and sewed almost 250 hats, scarves, gloves and socks. So that these could be safely distributed among the homeless and other people in need in the city, the SilberLilien met last Tuesday (December 3rd) with Petra Bier from the association “Aus der Not Darmstadt e.V.”, who had already given an emotional lecture on the occasion of the SV’s overnight stay campaign 98 stopped at Bölle to hand over the donations.

This campaign was supported by Vice President Markus Pfitzner and numerous Lily fans. In addition, a big thank you goes to the companies “Woll-Bachmann” and “Welter” for the wool donations as well as to the fan and support department of SV 98 for their financial support.

+++ Defeat in the last game of the year +++

In the last game of the year, the SV Darmstadt fan team lost to TSG Wixhausen II last Thursday (December 5th). After a good start for the Lilies on a foreign pitch, it was the hosts from Wixhausen who ended up winning the game 6-4. Nevertheless, the “zwote Zwote” finishes the winter in third place in the district league C – only one point behind second-placed FC Ober-Ramstadt II. The fan team will not continue until March of the new year, when they are guests the TUS Griesheim is (09.03)

+++ eFootballers are subject to Leipzig +++

Unfortunately, the eLilien had to admit defeat in the top duel with Leipzig last Wednesday (December 4th). After a good 2-0 half-time lead in a two-on-two situation, the Saxons turned the game around and ultimately prevailed with a 3-2 win. In the following one-on-one, eLilie Nassim had to win in order to delay the duel until the last game. In the end he also lost his game – closer than the final result looked – with a 4-1 loss. The next chance for more points will be on Wednesday evening (December 11th). Like the professionals, the eFootball players also have to play against 1. FC Kaiserslautern. Kick-off on the virtual pitch is at 7:15pm. This duel also seems pretty open, as the fourth-placed team (SV 98) is playing against the fifth-placed team (FCK).

Darmstadt's 2-1 defeat at Karlsruher SC also ended any remaining theoretical hopes the South Hessian club had of finishing the season in the top three. The loss at the Wildpark stadium served somewhat as a symbol for the past few weeks, during which SV 98 had only managed one point from five matches since the international break in March. Following the game on Sunday afternoon, the Darmstadt players addressed the assembled media representatives with mixed feelings.

A bitter end in Karlsruhe: After 90 entertaining minutes in which both teams sought salvation in attack, Darmstadt suffered a narrow defeat. The final score was 2-1 after a late goal from the home side, following Isac Lidberg's earlier equaliser. After the match, the players were particularly frustrated with the missed opportunities in the first half.

Opposition Check: Karlsruher SC

Left hook, 'One hundred and eightyyyyyyy', and hand over the baton. Doesn't sound like football – and that's true. KSC is often associated with professional football, but with the sheer number of titles the club has won, it's worth looking beyond the pitch. Titles from Baden-Württemberg to Rome.
