Matchday Compact: All Information for the Braunschweig Game

SV 98 has had an eventful international break. When Florian Kohfeldt makes his debut, the Lilies will host Eintracht Braunschweig on Saturday (14.09/1pm). Before kick-off sounds at the Merck Stadium, we will provide you with all the important information about the game between Eintracht Braunschweig and Darmstadt 98.

The Matchday Quote

They are very good at switching offensively and also have a playful approach, but are not above playing the ball deep under pressure. They are also very strong at offensive set pieces. They change a little in height during the start-up behavior, so there is no completely clear picture. A very experienced team awaits us.

The opponent's view

Eintracht Braunschweig’s head coach, Daniel Scherning, spoke at the press conference about the upcoming encounter with Darmstadt 98 and shared his assessment of the opponent: „We are totally prepared for a clearly emotional team to be on the pitch at Darmstadt. We know that a game after a change of coach is always like a restart. That’s how they will approach it tactically with a back four or with a back five. Both are possible for how Kohfeldt likes to play. I think they’re trying to switch well, get into depth quickly, play very straight and keep overloading the center, which is what we’re used to from them. The basic structure has changed a bit, but a coach’s first game is always a look into the crystal ball.

Bölle-Energy

As Florian Kohfeldt approached the team's dressing room at halftime, the Darmstadt head coach heard exactly one sentence: "It's not finished." Fraser Hornby had uttered it, setting the tone for his teammates and himself. What followed was a remarkable second half from Darmstadt 98 and a point against SV Elversberg, a point that, while likely insufficient for their promotion hopes in southern Hesse, nonetheless filled the Darmstadt fans with pride.
