UEFA Nations League. Fabian Nürnberger will compete in this competition together with the Bulgarian national team during this international period. Bulgaria is in Group 3 of League C. The other group opponent alongside Belarus, Northern Ireland and Luxembourg.

But first there is an away game on the agenda for Nürnberger and Co. The game will be played in Zalaegerszeg, Hungary. The Bulgarians, coached by national coach Illian Iliev, will face Belarus next Thursday (05/09 – 8:45pm). The last meeting between the two nations took place on February 26, 2020, when Belarus narrowly won the friendly 1-0.

Just three days later, Bulgaria will welcome the Northern Irish national team on Sunday (08/09 – 6pm) in the southern Bulgarian city of Plovdiv. The last time both teams met was in World Cup qualifying on October 12, 2021. At that time the Bulgarians won 2-1.

While Nürnberger is now looking forward to his debut for the national team, he has already played five competitive games for Darmstadt 98 in the current season and played 405 minutes. In the first round of the DFB Cup, the 25-year-old also scored his first goal of the season for the Lilies – with a penalty against Teutonia Ottensen.
