On to the final sprint! | eLilie among the top 16 in Germany
The final stretch of the 2. Bundesliga season is upon us, and the SV Darmstadt 98 players are looking ahead to their upcoming matches. Furthermore, eLilie Nassim "Nassada" Dahman is among the top 16 EAFC players in Germany. We report on these and other topics related to SV 98 in our weekly column "Lilies Across the Board."
+++ "We still have some important games ahead of us" +++
Thirty matchdays have been played, with only four games remaining in the 2024/25 second-division season. And the SV Darmstadt 98 players are ready to give it their all and take maximum points. „We still have some important games ahead of us,“ emphasised Fraser Hornby after the 3-1 home win against Hannover 96. Next Saturday (April 26th, 1pm) they travel to Münster, followed by the home game against HSV, the away game against Kaiserslautern, and the season finale at the Bölle against Regensburg. Goalkeeper Marcel Schuhen is also ready for the crucial phase: „We still need points to be absolutely sure. And I’m convinced we’ll get them.“
+++ Throwback: The last away game in Münster +++
What a fantastic away game that was on April 5, 2014, at Preußen Münster! SVD and the Eagles met in the 3rd division – the Lilies won 2-0. One scene in particular from the match will remain vividly in the memory of some Lilies fans: Sandro Sirigu’s dream solo run across almost the entire football pitch, which the then Darmstadt player finished with a skillful lob over the Münster keeper in the 83rd minute to make it 2-0. An important game, an important victory in a season that saw SV 98 promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga.
+++ eLilien: Nassim is among the top 16 in Germany +++
What an achievement! eLilie Nassim „Nassada“ Dahman impressively qualified for the major offline tournament in Köln last week, making him one of the top 16 EA FC players in Germany for 2025 – a huge success! In the Swiss rounds, which were played online, the eLilien pro demonstrated nerves of steel, precision, and enthusiasm for the game. He demonstrated his fighting spirit, especially in the decisive fifth match against „Virgel“ of Borussia Dortmund: After a thrilling duel that included overtime, Nassim prevailed 8:7 – thus securing the coveted ticket to the offline event.

+++ U21 wants to get back on the winning track +++
After two bitter defeats in the LOTTO Hessenliga, the SV Darmstadt 98 U21 team is looking to get back on the winning track. With the Easter weekend off, coach Daniel Petrowksy’s team had two weeks to intensively prepare for their upcoming opponent. The young Lilies will travel to TuS Hanau next Sunday (April 27th, 2:30pm). SV 98 is currently in fifth place and in a position to challenge for the top spots. Three points would definitely help the young Lilies to get back to the top of the table after two recent defeats.
+++ Fan team with momentum into the next game +++
The SV Darmstadt 98 fan base is back in action after the short Easter break. They hope to build on the momentum from their 4-3 away win against SKG Bickenbach II to secure another win. On Sunday (April 27th, 3pm), the „second team“ will be looking to secure another win against SV Croatia Griesheim. The fan base faces a tough match: their opponents have won their last two matches 2-0. SV 98 is currently in third place in the Kreisliga C, just three points behind second-placed VfR Eberstadt. +++ In memory of Andreas Gompf +++
For the tenth year running (with a brief interruption due to the coronavirus pandemic), the Andreas Gompf Tournament took place at the Böllenfalltorhalle. A total of 14 teams from Darmstadt or from fellow BSC Young Boys fans competed against each other right next to the stadium on Maundy Thursday starting at 5pm. There were fantastic goals, amazing saves, and exciting games for the approximately 400 Darmstadt fans to admire in the Böllenfalltorhalle. All of this was done in memory of the first director and founder of the fan project, Andreas Gompf, who died far too early in 2004. But all other deceased Lilien fans were also remembered on this day.
In the final, the „Underdogs“ ultimately prevailed against the „Usual Suspects,“ thus replacing them as tournament winners. The „Underdogs“ team also won the Bar Cup, achieving a double victory for the first time at the Andreas Gompf Tournament.
For a good cause. Profits from the sale of drinks and food were donated to „Project ANNA,“ which supports young people in crisis situations. Despite the long tournament schedule, Maundy Thursday was a popular date, so a new beer sales record was reported, thus generating a substantial amount of donations.
