+++ Relief train to Karlsruhe | Evening match for the U21 team +++
To ensure a smooth and convenient journey to Karlsruhe this weekend, SV 98 is offering a special train service that will transport Lilies fans directly from Darmstadt to Karlsruhe and back. Additionally, SV Darmstadt 98's U21 team will host SV Hummetroth at their home academy this Wednesday evening (April 29th). For more news and updates, check out our usual "Lilien Across the Board" – all the latest news about the club, gathered here for you.
+++ What else is possible for the U21 team? +++
Keep it up! After the convincing 4-0 victory last Saturday (April 25th) against VfB 1905 Marburg, the action continues this Wednesday evening (April 29th/7pm). The Young Lilies will once again host SV Hummetroth in a home game at the youth academy and will certainly be looking to build on their performance from the last match. „In the last game, we finally got the reward we deserved for our efforts,“ explained U21 coach Sebastian Schmitt to sv98.de. At the same time, he urged his team: „We have to keep going!“ Hummetroth, a team that gained plenty of confidence last matchday, is coming to Darmstadt: the team from the Odenwald region defeated 1. Hanauer FC 7-1. Prior to this victory, however, Hummetroth had gone three games without a win.
Meanwhile, the first leg between the two teams was a wild, goal-fest, ending in a 3-3 draw. Each team dominated the other, and the action continued well into stoppage time. In the first half of the season, Max Pfister scored the supposed winning goal for SV Darmstadt 98’s U21 team in the fourth minute of stoppage time, making it 3-2, but Hummetroth scored 60 seconds later to equalise at 3-3.
+++ "Excuse me, is this the relief train to Karlsruhe?" +++
Next stop: Karlsruhe Central Station! For all Darmstadt 98 fans traveling to the Wildpark Stadium with the team: Around the time of the away match against Karlsruher SC, the club is offering a special train service that runs non-stop to Karlsruhe and back to Darmstadt after the game. A special note: SV Darmstadt 98 is liable for any damage to the train’s rolling stock and therefore appeals to all passengers to treat the provided carriages responsibly and strictly adhere to the smoking ban on board. Only through respectful behavior from everyone can this service continue in the future. Special thanks go to the fan organisation Südtribüne Darmstadt, which is supporting the initiative on-site and will also be available as a contact person on the train. The service can be used with the regular „Deutschland-Ticket“/local transport fare; no separate ticket is required.

+++ 250! +++
No Darmstadt fan was unmoved when Fabian Holland announced his departure at the end of the season. All the more reason to celebrate that he was able to reach a special milestone in the Darmstadt jersey last weekend. Holland played his 250th second-division match against SV Elversberg – 232 of them for Darmstadt 98, with another 18 previously played for Hertha BSC. Congratulations on this milestone, Fabi!
+++ It wasn't meant to be for the young Lilies +++
Too bad. The cup run in the Hessen Cup is unfortunately already over for the U19 and U17 teams of SV Darmstadt 98 this year. Last Wednesday (April 22nd), the U17s faced Eintracht Frankfurt but had to leave the pitch as losers after a 6-0 defeat. The U19s also failed to advance against Hessen Kassel, losing 4-2 and bowing out of the Hessen Cup.
The U19s‘ tightly packed schedule continued on Sunday (April 26th, 2pm) in the DFB Youth League. Unfortunately, they couldn’t secure a win, losing 2-1 to Viktoria Köln. With a game in hand and only three points behind a playoff spot currently held by SC Rot-Weiß Oberhausen, the young Lilies are looking forward to their next match. That match is against Oberhausen – away on Sunday (May 3rd, 2pm).
The U17s bounced back immediately after their cup exit, making another statement in the league on Sunday (April 26th, 11am). After two consecutive victories against league leaders, they managed to pick up points against Unterhaching, a team from the bottom half of the table. The U17s won the away game 2-0 and currently sit in third place in their DFB Youth League.
+++ Congratulations, Dieter! +++
On Labour Day, May 1st, there’s more to celebrate than just the holiday: Dieter Rudolf turns 74! As goalkeeper for Darmstadt, he won the German second division championship twice and spent a total of ten years at the Bölle stadium. With 354 appearances in a Darmstadt jersey, he holds the second-most caps for the club. All the best, good luck, and good health to you, Dieter!
+++ SAFC also successful in the cup +++
A successful start. In their first match of the Prinx Tires USL Cup, San Antonio FC prevailed in a penalty shootout. The first 90 minutes against Birmingham Legion FC on Monday (April 26th) ended in a goalless draw. Because both teams are still in the group stage, each received a point. Due to a quirk of the USL Cup rules, even in the group stage, a penalty shootout is required if no winner can be determined in regulation time. The winner is awarded an additional point, which SAFC secured. With two points after their first match, they currently sit in second place in their group.
The SV Darmstadt 98 affiliate team will face the Colorado Spring Switchbacks in the league on Sunday (May 3rd, 2:30am German time). It’s fortunate that it’s a home game! SAFC remains undefeated at home this season. Good luck from Darmstadt!
+++ A rough week for the "second team" +++
Put it behind them and move on. Last Wednesday (April 22nd), the SV Darmstadt 98 fan team hosted Kamerun Darmstadt in the Kreisliga B – unfortunately without success. Despite a spirited performance, they couldn’t secure a point, and two goals were all they managed, resulting in a 2-4 defeat. Things didn’t go any better on Sunday (April 26th) away at RSV Germania Pfungstadt; quite the opposite, in fact. The reserve team suffered a crushing 10-1 defeat against the promotion hopefuls.
Now they need to put that behind them and focus on getting back on track next Sunday (May 3rd, 3pm) against SV Weiterstadt. Like every game in this league, it’s a crucial match in the fight to avoid relegation, especially since Weiterstadt is only three points ahead of the reserve team.
