Successful start in Hainstadt

Successful start to the test match for SV Darmstadt 98: The Lilies won 16-0 (7-0) against A-League team SpVgg Hainstadt. The goals in front of around 700 fans were scored by Mehlem (21st), Lakenmacher (25th, 26th, 42nd), Müller (30th, 37th), Lopez (42nd), Stojilkovic (48th, 84th) and Riedel (51st, 54th), Papela (52nd), Bader (60th), Kempe (63rd), Baier (69th) and Torsiello (85th).

The first test match in the 2024 summer preparation took the Lilies to Offenbach’s A-League team SpVgg Hainstadt. After a few chances in the early stages, including a shot off the post by Andreas Müller (10th), captain Marvin Mehlem scored to make it 1-0 for the Lilies (21st). New signing Fynn Lakenmacher scored twice in two minutes (25th/26th), and in the 30th minute he set up Andreas Müller to make it 4-0. Then there was the first change for the 98ers, Marcel Schuhen came into goal for Karol Niemczycki.

Müller also increased the score to 5-0 (37th), then another newcomer scored: Sergio Lopez scored his first goal in the Lilies jersey after a nice one-two with Luca Marseiler (42nd). Fynn Lakenmacher, who had the empty goal in front of him all alone in the middle, made it 7-0 (42′). After these two well-played goals within a minute, both teams went into halftime. In very warm temperatures, the water buckets were the players‘ greatest friends.

In the second half, head coach Torsten Lieberknecht rotated properly, the entire offensive department was replaced once: Fabio Torsiello, Merveille Papela, Kai Klefisch, Tobias Kempe and Filip Stojilkovic were now on the pitch. It was the returnee Stojilkovic who opened the scoring in the second half, with a nice shot he increased the score to 8-0 (48th).

It didn’t take long for the SVD to celebrate again, Clemens Riedel (51st) and Merveille Papela (52nd) each scoring in quick succession. Defender Riedel scored again in the 54th minute with a beautiful full-range shot from a good 18 meters. It wasn’t to be the last nice long-range shot; Matthias Bader also scored from around 17 meters (60′).

Lieberknecht then made another change: Alexander Brunst, Nico Baier, Mateo Zelic, Max Pfister and Othomane El Idrissi came on in the 60th minute. Veteran Tobi Kempe made it 13-0 with a header (63′), U19 player Nico Baier also scored his goal with a header (69′). Shortly before the end of the first test, Filip Stojilkovic (84th) and Fabio Torsiello (85th) scored to make the final score 16-0.
