Paul Fernie: „With Yosuke Furukawa, we have secured another promising young player. We got a good impression of him, especially during his last season in Poland, and we are convinced that with his talent and potential, he can also make a name for himself in the second division. Yosuke’s dribbling ability and explosiveness, coupled with his good technique, make him an exciting attacking option for us.“

Yosuke Furukawa: „I’m really looking forward to Darmstadt 98 and my new team. I will do everything I can to help the team achieve success and also make the fans proud. I’m looking forward to seeing them in the stadium soon and am excited about the atmosphere.“

Furukawa played 31 matches for Iwata in Japan’s top division. In total, he appeared in 76 matches for the club (7 goals, 6 assists). Last season, Furukawa was loaned to Polish first division club Gornik Zabrze. There, he made 25 competitive appearances, contributing two goals and two assists. Furukawa will wear the number 44 for the Lilies.
