This Wednesday (September 4th) there will be three games with Lilien participation: The professionals are testing in Mainz, the U21s are playing in the Hessenliga in the NLZ and the fan team is challenged at home in Pfungstadt. During the current international break, the Lilies will play a test match against 1. FSV Mainz 05 in the Bruchwegstadion this Wednesday afternoon (September 4th). The game will be broadcast live on Mainz’s official YouTube channel. Kick-off will be at 2pm. Tickets for last-minute visitors are only available at the box office in Mainz.
The SV Darmstadt 98 U21 team wants to continue its short winning streak. With the self-confidence from two threes in a row (3:0 against Waldgirmes, 3:0 against Wolfhagen), head coach Daniel Petrowsky’s team is hoping for the next sense of success. This Wednesday evening (September 4th/7:30pm) the U21s will face SV Unter-Flockenbach at home. ATTENTION: The game does not take place in Alsbach, but in the local youth performance center in Darmstadt! Both teams met in the Hessenliga on August 14th. The game ended in a 1-1 draw. Georgios Makridis scored the goal for Darmstadt (53′).
The “Zwote” is also in action during the international break. This Wednesday evening (September 4th) the fan team of SV Darmstadt 98 will meet the second team of FC Ober-Ramstadt. The game kicks off at 7:30pm, on the home turf in Pfungstadt. An English week for Darmstadt, who then have to get back to work at the weekend. On Sunday (September 8th) the away game against SV Weiterstadt II will be about the next points in the district league C. Kick-off is at 12.30pm.
International break. But no respite for Fabian Nürnberger. The man with the number 15 shirt could make his debut for the Bulgarian national team tomorrow, Thursday (05/09 – 8:45pm). The opponent in the UEFA Nations League on Thursday evening is Belarus. In total, both national teams have met each other eight times to date – Bulgaria won five games and Belarus won three times.
The second international for Fabian Nürnberger will take place at the weekend. On Sunday evening (September 8th) the Bulgarian team will welcome the Northern Irish. Kick-off is at 6pm. The teams meet again for the first time in three years. Back then, Bulgaria narrowly won 2-1 against Northern Ireland at the Hristo Botev Stadium in Plovdiv.

Our Swedish newcomer Isac Lidberg is celebrating his 25th birthday next Sunday (September 8th). The attacker has been wearing the Lily on his chest since August 16th and scored a goal for the Darmstadt team in his debut game in the 2nd Bundesliga against 1. FC Nürnberg. Dear Isac, we warmly congratulate you on your special day!
The second consecutive away game, and the last of the season, is upon us. Once again on a Sunday (May 10th, 1:30pm), Darmstadt will be playing away – this time against SC Preußen Münster. As part of an autograph session presented by Merck, Patric Pfeiffer, Kai Klefisch, and Fynn Lakenmacher will be at the Merck Stadium at Böllenfalltor. Darmstadt's 2-1 defeat at Karlsruher SC also ended any remaining theoretical hopes the South Hessian club had of finishing the season in the top three. The loss at the Wildpark stadium served somewhat as a symbol for the past few weeks, during which SV 98 had only managed one point from five matches since the international break in March. Following the game on Sunday afternoon, the Darmstadt players addressed the assembled media representatives with mixed feelings.
Three points! SV Darmstadt 98's U21 team secured a victory in the Lotto Hessenliga on Saturday afternoon (May 2nd). In their match against Hünfelder SV, the young Lilies overcame an early deficit to clinch a convincing 3-1 win. This result puts the U21 team currently outside the relegation zone. "Our trend is clearly upward," said a delighted U21 coach Sebastian Schmitt.
The successful collaboration between the Hessian Disabled and Rehabilitation Sports Association (HBRS) and SV Darmstadt 98 will continue long-term: Both partners have extended their existing agreement to promote inclusive sports indefinitely. This sends a clear signal for the sustainable development of inclusion and disability sports in Hesse.
A bitter end in Karlsruhe: After 90 entertaining minutes in which both teams sought salvation in attack, Darmstadt suffered a narrow defeat. The final score was 2-1 after a late goal from the home side, following Isac Lidberg's earlier equaliser. After the match, the players were particularly frustrated with the missed opportunities in the first half.
The away form continues to be poor: SV 98 suffered a 2-1 (0-0) defeat against Karlsruher SC. Lidberg scored the equaliser for the team from southern Hesse in the 70th minute.
Darmstadt 98 visit Karlsruher SC on matchday 32 (May 3rd, 1:30 PM). Florian Kohfeldt has made five changes to his starting lineup. Killian Corredor replaces the injured Fraser Hornby, Aleksandar Vukotic comes in for the suspended Patric Pfeiffer, and Fabian Holland starts in place of Matej Maglica, who is sidelined with an ankle injury. Merveille Papela and Niklas Schmidt also join the team, replacing Sergio Lopez and Yosuke Furukawa. In addition to Hornby, Pfeiffer, and Maglica, Darmstadt will also be without the injured Matthias Bader, Fabian Nürnberger, and Luca Marseiler.
