SV Darmstadt 98 is entering the new second division season with an ambitious vision: The club's membership is set to increase to 18,980, reflecting the year of its founding. Therefore, SV 98 is calling on all fans and supporters to become part of the Lilien family. The sports club currently has around 15,500 members. The membership campaign was launched at the season opening celebration on Wednesday (July 23rd).
To break this milestone, SV 98 has planned many exclusive promotions and experiences for its members for the upcoming season. At the start of the season, randomly selected members were treated to a very special highlight: a members‘ match was played on the Bölle pitch as part of the season opening celebration.
There will also be a members‘ prediction game, with a match-worn jersey raffled off among all winners for each home game. Another highlight is also planned after the end of the transfer window: As a symbol of the connection between team and fans, a team photo will be taken together with club members in the stadium.
SV 98 members will continue to benefit from proven advantages such as pre-emptive rights for tickets, exclusive dialogue events, and weekly newsletters. Active participation in grassroots sports is also possible, of course. The Lilies remain one of the most diverse and active professional football clubs in Germany, and the club aims to expand this community. And for this reason, every member counts as a representative of SV 98.

The end of an era. Fabian Holland's twelfth season in the Lilies' jersey will be his last with SV 98. The 35-year-old's contract, which expires at the end of the season, will not be renewed. The club informed Holland of this decision in a confidential meeting. Both club and player agree to focus entirely on achieving the best possible end to the season until the final match and that any plans for a farewell celebration will depend on how the rest of the season unfolds.
Extremely bitter. The SV Darmstadt 98 U21 team unfortunately came away empty-handed last Saturday (April 18th) visiting KSV Baunatal: The young Lilies conceded the decisive goal late in stoppage time, resulting in a 1-0 final score. Darmstadt had managed to hold their own against the fourth-placed team in the Hessenliga for almost the entire match. "A very bitter defeat after a really good performance," explained U21 coach Sebastian Schmitt to sv98.de.
Attention is already turning to the away match against SC Preußen Münster. On matchday 33, SV Darmstadt 98 will visit the Preußenstadion on Sunday (May 10th, 1:30pm).
