Lilies win in Walldorf
SV Darmstadt 98 won their fourth pre-season friendly. The Lilies defeated regional league side FC-Astoria Walldorf 4-1 (0-0) after 120 minutes.
In order to further optimise the club’s structures, avoid duplicate structures and strengthen the main office, Tom Eilers is moving to the management level at SV Darmstadt 98 to join the existing managing directors Michael Weilguny (commercial area) and Martin Kowalewski (Marketing & Sales). As a result, he no longer acts as an appointed member of the Executive Board.
As managing director of the licensed player area, he continues to be responsible for the club’s medium and long-term direction and strategy in the area of professional football in close coordination with sports director Paul Fernie. He also takes care of the operational processing of transfers, budget control in the licensed player area, committee work in the various sports associations and the club’s internal legal advice.
The competence profile of sports director Paul Fernie, which in particular includes the selection and support of players, coaches and the functional team, remains unaffected and, as before, is the sole responsibility of Paul Fernie. In this role, he continues to report directly to the Executive Board.
This structural adjustment creates additional transparency and defines the content of the distribution of tasks in the “licensed player” area.
