Lilies win in Walldorf
SV Darmstadt 98 won their fourth pre-season friendly. The Lilies defeated regional league side FC-Astoria Walldorf 4-1 (0-0) after 120 minutes.
The U21 of SV Darmstadt 98 won 3-1 at 1. Hanauer FC despite some changes. It was anything but an easy game for the Junglilien. With this success under their belt, the Darmstadt team is now in seventh place in the Lotto Hessen League.
In addition to the lack of personnel, the autumnal pitch conditions also made it difficult to play precise combinations. Nevertheless, both teams rose to the challenge well and the game was evenly balanced in the first half. With few chances to score on both sides, the game went into the locker room goalless (0-0).
After the break, the Darmstadt team came back more alert. In the 47th minute, goalkeeper Karol Niemczycki played the ball long to Georgios Makridis who in turn foundMateo Zelic, who took the ball with him and scored to make it 1-0. But the game remained competitive. After a corner, Yannick Pohland equalised for Hanau in the 76th minute. It didn’t take long for the Lilies to react: just a minute later, Viktor Grbic put the visitors back in front, before Mika Schlosser made it 3-1 in the 80th minute.
Starting XI: Niemczycki – Arania – Pfister – Görtler – Arnold – Grbic (90.Jung) – Ballmert – Held – Zelic (Schlosser, 72) – El Idrissi (Gegg, 85) – Makridis (Donges, 85)
This is a great result for us. We can be very satisfied. We had to make changes in a few positions and we managed to do that well.
Next Sunday (01/12. 2pm) a big challenge awaits the Junglilien: In Alsbach (at Sportfeld 1) they will face second-placed Bayern Alzenau.
