Lilien defender Guille Bueno, who celebrated his starting eleven debut in the 2nd Bundesliga last Friday in the game against Schalke 04 (5-3), spoke to journalists today about his first weeks at the Bölle, the first win of the season and his footballing career in Germany. The 22-year-old answered all questions in German. “I am very happy here. Darmstadt 98 is a good team, you can feel the positive energy. It’s important to me to spend this season with the Lilies,” explained Guille. The Spaniard, who spent three years in Dortmund and developed there, has often trained with the professionals in recent seasons. He said about his first game for Darmstadt in the Veltins Arena: “That was a special moment. Many Dortmund fans sent me congratulations after the game. The victory was important – for the team, for me and even for the BVB fans,“ said the left-footer with a smile. With regard to the yellow card, Bueno added: „I have to pay more attention to it in the future and improve on it in the next game.” The left-footed player sees his speed as his greatest strength. His compatriot Sergio Lopez was also a great help in getting used to things: “We can always talk to each other, even outside of training. Sergio is a great guy , he has also scored two goals – I’m happy for him.“ However, Bueno was self-critical about his own goalscoring ability: „I’m not that strong, I still have to work on that.“
After the long-term absences of Matthias Bader and Paul Will (both with cruciate ligament injuries), the Lilies have once again become active on the transfer market. Philipp Förster and Marco Thiede are now part of the squad and both bring plenty of experience to the Böllenfalltor.

Unfortunately, the weekend did not bring a victory for the “zwote Zwote”. After six unbeaten games, the fan team suffered a defeat for the first time in a duel against GW Darmstadt (1:3). Julian Schreiber scored the only goal for the SVD fan team with a penalty kick shortly before the end of the game.
The next game of the “zwote Zwote” will take place on Sunday (September 29th). The SV Darmstadt 98 fan team meets SKG Bickenbach. Kick-off is at 3pm.
Our defender Matej Maglica celebrates his 26th birthday today, September 25th! Matej has been part of the Lilien family since 2023 and has since played 31 competitive games in the SV 98 jersey. Attention Lilien fans: During SV Darmstadt 98’s training camp in Bad Wörishofen (Allgäu region)—taking place from July 19th to July 26th, 2026—there will once again be an opportunity to meet the team, chat with the players, and, of course, get autographs and photos. The Bundesliga finalised the match schedules for matchdays three through six on Wednesday (July 15th): Darmstadt's home game against Hannover 96 on matchday three will take place on Sunday. This will be followed by their away game against 1. FC Kaiserslautern on Saturday at 1pm. The home game against Arminia Bielefeld on Friday evening and the away game in Wolfsburg, also on Friday evening, have also been confirmed.
The Lilies can welcome another new arrival at the Böllenfalltor: Florian Kleinhansl will now wear the SV 98 jersey. The 25-year-old joins on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with 1. FC Kaiserslautern on June 30th.
