Lilies win in Walldorf
SV Darmstadt 98 won their fourth pre-season friendly. The Lilies defeated regional league side FC-Astoria Walldorf 4-1 (0-0) after 120 minutes.

“We allowed little, scored goals consistently”
A confident and mature away performance. A convincing and well-deserved away win. After the 120-minute cup fight in Dresden, the Lilies also won the following away game at Greuther Fürth. Accordingly, the Darmstadt protagonists appeared happy and satisfied at the microphones after the final whistle.
Florian Kohfeldt:
“I have to pay a big compliment to my team. Over 90 minutes it was the best game under my direction – both with and against the ball. We allowed very little and consistently scored the goals ourselves. It’s a beautiful day for us. There was only one downer for us today, and that was the injury to Fraser Hornby.”

“Congratulations to Darmstadt on their absolutely deserved victory. We are in a difficult phase that we have to get out of as a team. I thought we were inferior in all phases of the game. No matter what altitude we started at, we always ran behind. The fact that things then fell apart like that was bitter. The 0:3 before half-time broke our necks. With the 0:4 shortly after the break it was completely over. Overall, we have real problems, especially when playing against the ball, which we have to address and work on a lot in terms of content.”

„It was an outstanding performance. Both defensively and offensively. After the 120 minutes in Dresden it wasn’t easy, but we wanted to end this English week with three points. We managed that perfectly. We got into the game well and we then dominated the game almost the entire time. We had talked about exploiting chances beforehand and also in the minutes after our own goal, in which we often conceded a goal again. Today we were highly concentrated, followed up and perhaps could have won by even more.“

„It was a very good game for us. We were courageous in possession of the ball right from the start and used our opportunities to score a lot of goals. The goal we conceded is a little annoying for us, so we have to keep our concentration until the end. Nevertheless, overall we were able to compete today, we played a lot of quality and controlled the game. We’re really on the right track.“

Attention Lilien fans: During SV Darmstadt 98’s training camp in Bad Wörishofen (Allgäu region)—taking place from July 19th to July 26th, 2026—there will once again be an opportunity to meet the team, chat with the players, and, of course, get autographs and photos. The fan meet-up is scheduled for Saturday, July 25th, following the friendly match against SG Sonnenhof Großaspach. Kick-off for the match is at 12pm.

Bundesliga Confirms Matchdays 3 to 6
The Bundesliga finalised the match schedules for matchdays three through six on Wednesday (July 15th): Darmstadt's home game against Hannover 96 on matchday three will take place on Sunday. This will be followed by their away game against 1. FC Kaiserslautern on Saturday at 1pm. The home game against Arminia Bielefeld on Friday evening and the away game in Wolfsburg, also on Friday evening, have also been confirmed.
Transfer News: Kleinhansl Signs for SV 98
The Lilies can welcome another new arrival at the Böllenfalltor: Florian Kleinhansl will now wear the SV 98 jersey. The 25-year-old joins on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with 1. FC Kaiserslautern on June 30th.
