Lilien tips for the game-free weekend

Does an international break mean a football break? Not with the Lilies! We've put together the best tips for the upcoming weekend, so you won't get bored during our first team's game-free weekend. Our fan team will be in action, among other things. The futsal team will also be playing its last home game of the season.

U15 welcomes Heidenheim

Of course, the ball will be rolling at the SV Darmstadt 98 youth academy this weekend. The Lilies‘ U15 team will host 1. FC Heidenheim in a Regionalliga Süd clash on Saturday (March 22). Kick-off is at 11:00am. With 19 points after 12 matchdays, the young Lilies are currently in third place.

Last Futsal home match day

On Saturday (March 22nd), the Lilies‘ first and second futsal teams will play their final home game of the futsal season at the Bürgerparkhalle (Alsfelder Straße 29, 64289 Darmstadt). The second team will kick off at 10:00am against AFG Bergstraße. Later at 6:00pm, the SV 98 first futsal team will play their final Regionalliga match of the season against 1860 Munich.

Further Hessenliga matches will also take place there. Since this is the last matchday, there will be an awards ceremony afterward – and it’s still exciting to see who will emerge as champion. TSG 1846 Mainz has the best chance of winning. They sit in first place with 30 points, two points ahead of SV Pars Neu-Isenburg II and AFG Bergstraße. For both Lilies teams, there is nothing left to play for, but a futsal festival with fun and excitement is guaranteed.

The ball is also rolling for women

The second team of DJK-SSG Darmstadt, the cooperation club of SV 98 in matters of girls‘ and women’s football, will also host FC Viktoria Schaafheim II on Saturday (22.03/8pm) under floodlights. The Darmstadt team is currently top of the table and desperately needs points to defend first place in the women’s Oberliga.

Fan team wants to confirm good form

The SV 98 fan base is slowly getting back into gear after the winter break: The Lilies‘ „second team“ recently won 2-1 away at FC Ober-Ramstadt II. They hope to continue this form on Sunday (March 23rd, 3pm) at home against SV Weiterstadt II. To defend their newly won third place in the Kreisliga C, our fan base is counting on your support! The game will take place on the artificial turf pitch of RSV Germania 03 Pfungstadt on Ostendstraße.

Darmstadt's 2-1 defeat at Karlsruher SC also ended any remaining theoretical hopes the South Hessian club had of finishing the season in the top three. The loss at the Wildpark stadium served somewhat as a symbol for the past few weeks, during which SV 98 had only managed one point from five matches since the international break in March. Following the game on Sunday afternoon, the Darmstadt players addressed the assembled media representatives with mixed feelings.

A bitter end in Karlsruhe: After 90 entertaining minutes in which both teams sought salvation in attack, Darmstadt suffered a narrow defeat. The final score was 2-1 after a late goal from the home side, following Isac Lidberg's earlier equaliser. After the match, the players were particularly frustrated with the missed opportunities in the first half.

Opposition Check: Karlsruher SC

Left hook, 'One hundred and eightyyyyyyy', and hand over the baton. Doesn't sound like football – and that's true. KSC is often associated with professional football, but with the sheer number of titles the club has won, it's worth looking beyond the pitch. Titles from Baden-Württemberg to Rome.
